This weeks Featured Artists are The Beelzebubs! They are Tufts University’s oldest male a cappella group and will be opening for Jay Leno, at the 20th Annual WRCH Nite of Lite Laughter at the Bushnell on October 13th. The Bubs have been at the forefront of contemporary a cappella since the group’s creation in 1963. In the past 50+ years, the Bubs have brought our motto “Fun Through Song” to life through gigs all around the world, and many other incredible performance opportunities.
In their time as a group, the Bubs have received more than 30 CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) nominations, won “Best Group in the Nation twice, they have had seven selections featured on BOCA (Best of College A Cappella), and four selections on Voices Only. The Bubs have sung for President Bill Clinton, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and many more. They’ve also appeared on Good Morning America, Late Night with David Letterman, MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen, and more!
You may know the Bubs as the voice of the Warblers on Fox’s GLEE, or the runner ups on NBC’s “The Sing Off,” but in reality, they’re just a bunch of friends who love to sing. Each year, the Bubs sing four major shows at Tufts, in addition to numerous performances in the Boston area, around the US, and the world. But when they’re not preparing for their next show, you can find the Bubs in class, settling the lands of Catan, or telling (pretty terrible) jokes. If you come to the Nite Of Lite Laughter Pre-Party at JRestaurant Bar in Hartford, The Bubs will be doing a few songs before the show. Get your tickets at the Bushnell Box Office at 860-987-5900 or at bushnell.org
