It’s almost become an annual ritual. A few years back a listener friend called into the PillowTalk love lines. I’ll call her Vivian. She wanted to make a dedication. While trying to get some background about her dedication, I found out that she is a teacher at the same elementary school I attended in West Hartford when I was about 7 years old. That was along time ago, but the fond memories I hold make it seem like it was just yesterday.
I ended up going to speak to her students about being on the radio for several years in a row as part of their study unit on “Community”. The reason she originally called me was due to the fact that she was getting her classroom ready in August for the beginning of a new school year in September.
It’s a lot of hard work and dedication and takes several hours of effort to get the room ready.
So hats off to Vivian and her crew: husband Lance, mother Eleanor, Uncle Ernie and friends Bob and Val.
By the way, she told me the “theme” for the upcoming school year is “happiness”.
