We got a chance at a rare getaway to Boston with the kids! My son Cooper’s baseball team was chosen by CVS Health for a very special day at FENWAY PARK!! We got to take a tour of The Home of the Red Sox early in the day. We heard about all of the history and details and little known secrets about Fenway!
Then, The whole team got to have a batting practice INSIDE the team facilities with Red Sox Hitting Coach Chili Davis & Assistant Hitting Coach Victor Rodriguez! It was amazing! Just when I didn’t think it could get much better, we had lunch IN THE DUGOUT!!! Imagine a sunny summer day having a delicious lunch peering out onto the field and gazing off to the Green Monster! The kids got to run the bases and then we all received tickets for that night’s home game it was a perfect day! Thank You to Coach Tom for entering the team in the contest. Thanks to Coaches Brian and Kim for everything all season long. And a Big shout out to CVS Health and The Boston Red Sox for having such special opportunities like this for children to foster a love for America’s pastime!
We chose to take the opportunity to make a stay of it overnnight in Boston so we made it a mini vacation and stayed overnight at The Loews Boston Hotel.
This place was super cool!
The Loews Boston Hotel is a gorgeous limestone building that was once home to the Boston Police Headquarters. It was so cool! It was situated super close to Copley Square and a short walk for us to Fenway! The minute we got out of the car the Bellmen made my boys feel so important! My younger son Charlie is a talker and they were so great with him and all of his questions! (They were so patient! ) Hotel stays are such a treat for us and sometimes you worry about how fancy hotels will feel about children. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were so warm and friendly this place was the perfect blend of history, comfort, charm and New England hospitality.
Overall, We had an amazing trip with lots of fun summer family memories!
