The Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show, Sunday, Feb. 9th 1964. The two remaining Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, were there Sunday, Feb. 9th 2014, 50 years later last night.

So much was covered last night from the past. The best performances, by today’s musicians, playing all Beatles songs, or course, were great.

The best: 1. “Let It Be”, John Legend and Alicia Keys.

2. “Something” Dannie Harrison, George’s son, Jeff Lynn and Joe Walsh.

3. “Fool on the Hill” Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart.

Then Ringo did “Yellow Submarine” and of course, he and Paul wrapped up the night with many songs and ended with “Hey Jude” Loved it!

EDITOR’S NOTE:  The Sunday Beatles Special Averaged 13.95 Million Viewers.    CBS will present an encore broadcast of THE BEATLES: THE NIGHT THAT CHANGED AMERICA – A GRAMMY® SALUTE, Wednesday, Feb. 12 (8:30-11:00 PM, ET/PT).
