I just read on contactmusic.com, that Rod Stewart is giving fans an early Christmas treat by releasing a festive charity single.  Rod’s holiday album Merry Christmas, Baby is already a big hit around the globe and now he’s moving up the holiday charts.  .

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was released on December 9th,  with a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Teenage Cancer Trust, an organisation supported by the star’s favourite Scottish soccer team Celtic’s charity fund.

Stewart says, “I live a blessed and wonderful life and this Christmas it means a lot to me to be able to do something that can help young people with cancer.

“I really admire the work done by Teenage Cancer Trust and I’m happy that Celtic Football Club’s charity fund will help raise money for such a worthwhile cause.”

Roger Daltrey, patron of the charity, adds: “I’ve worked with Teenage Cancer Trust for years and it’s a cause I’m really passionate about – they do incredibly important work helping young people with cancer. Rod and I have a passion for football and music in common, it’s great to see him involved with the Teenage Cancer Trust.

In other Rod Stewart News, Rod has just announced plans to launch his  “Live the Life” tour in North America this Spring. Stewart will be joined by legendary artist, Steve Winwood for an unstoppable evening of hits from two of rock music’s most
seminal artists.  The “Live the Life” tour is set to kick-off in Chicago on April 10 and play ten arenas throughout North America including dates in New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Toronto,
Atlanta, Detroit and Greensboro, NC.
