Carrie Underwood will get a chance to tell us about a few of her favorite things with her latest role.
The singer is set to play Maria von Trapp in the made-for-TV broadcast of The Sound of Music. The three-hour show, which is based on the original Broadway version, will be broadcasted live on NBC next year.
This isn’t the American Idol’s first acting role. She previously appeared on a 2010 episode of How I Met Your Mother and played a church leader in the 2011 movie, Soul Surfer.
No word yet on who will join the country singer as Captain von Trapp.
Do you think Carrie is a good choice to fill the very big shoes of Julie Andrews, who played Maria in the 1960 movie?
