With four HD projectors and six computers, will.i.am turned an Australian building into a musical instrument this week.
Will.i.am combined technology and music to create “the playable building.” The installation, part of the Vivid Sydney festival running until June 11, turned Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art into an interactive work of art through the use of arm motions and hand gestures. Museumgoers directed the lightshow and rearranged will.i.am’s loops and samples for a unique design every time.
This project is a collaboration between the computer giant Intel and the musician, who was named the company’s Director of Creative Innovation early last year.
Will took Twitter by storm last night and in one tweet shared his excitement about the project:

The Black Eyed Pea has been quite the globetrotter of late starting off in London this week with a performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee before heading Down Under to give the installation a try for himself. He’s also keeping himself busy finishing up his latest solo album, #willpower, produced by Steven Angello from the Swedish House Mafia and due out July 2.
