In October, it was announced that [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elton John[/lastfm] would join forces with Glee‘s [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Matthew Morrison[/lastfm] on Morrison’s debut album.  But with a tour, a new CD with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Leon Russell[/lastfm], executive producing and providing music for Gnomeo & Juliet, AND a new baby, Elton’s schedule was a little busy.

On Monday he finally made it into the studio with Morrison to record a mashup (something which Morrison’s Mr. Schuester character would have been proud) of two classic Elton John/[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bernie Taupin[/lastfm] tunes, Mona Lisas & Madhatters and Rocket Man.

Sir Elton told Parade magazine:

I just did it! It’s a duet. It’s great, really fantastic. He sings great on it.
